1 General description
ICODE 3 High-cap is a new contactless HF-RFID chip with 97pF internal tuning capacitance. The chip offers
strong RF performance. It features a customizable digital Originality signature, to assure tag origin in cloning
detection, and offers enhanced privacy modes to protect user privacy. It is operated at 13.56MHz from longrange
HF-RFID readers and NFC phones, to support cross-range operations across manufacture, supply, and
usage chains. It is fully compatible with the ISO/IEC 15693 standard and NFC Forum Type 5 tag.
Fully backward-compatible with SLIX 2, the ICODE 3 supports new features:
? Fast read with up to 212 kbit/s
? Configurable 24-bit counter
? ASCII mirror feature option
? One-shot read-only memory lock
? Extra configuration memory with optional password protection
? Programmable originality signature with 32 bytes or 48 bytes
? 2.4 kbit user memory size
? Flexible user memory segmentation with separate access conditions
2 Features and benefits
2.1 ICODE 3 RF interface (ISO/IEC 15693)

? Operating distance of up to 1.5 m (depending on the antenna geometry)
? Operating frequency of 13.56 MHz (ISM, worldwide license freely available)
? Fast data transfer of up to 212 kbit/s
? High data integrity: 16-bit CRC, framing

? Persistent quiet mode to enable faster inventory speed
? Write distance equal to read distance
? 97 pF internal resonance capacitance for small antenna form factors
2.2 EEPROM
? 2432 bits of user memory organized in 76 blocks of 4 bytes each. The last block is reserved for the 24-bit
counter feature.

? Write endurance of 100,000 cycles

? 32-byte or 48-byte programmable originality signature
? Lock mechanism for each user memory block (write protection), and lock protection pointer for fast locking
